Fury locks horns with 46-year-old Polish veteran Wach at the Max Muay Thai Arena in Pattaya, Thailand, on July 24.

Fury is supremely confident of beating Anthony Joshua, but first he must get past Wach

Mariusz Wach

The bout will act as a tune-up fight for Fury ahead of his long-overdue clash with fellow countryman Anthony Joshua.

Organisers have tentatively pencilled AJ-Fury in for November, contingent on Fury beating Wach, and Joshua defeating Kristian Prenga one day later in Saudi Arabia.

Joshua’s undercard was announced earlier today, with world title defences from Hamzah Sheeraz and Josh Kelly set to feature.

There is significantly less name value on Fury’s undercard, although that is to be expected, given that the proceeds are going to charity.

A heavyweight fight between Daniel Baer (15-1-1) of Germany and England’s Simon Ibekwe (6-0) acts as chief support.

Tyson Fury VS Mariusz Wach

The rest of the bill is made up of showcase fights for Michael Flannery (14-1), Lucas Dassios (1-0), Mark Ahondjo (1-0-1) and Arlo Stephens (2-0).

None of their opponents have been confirmed at the time of writing, nor will any of their fights be available to watch live.

Tyson Fury

According to ‘The Gypsy King’, the only cameras that will be present on the night are the ones filming the third series of his Netflix show, At Home With the Furys.

Anthony Joshua has his tune-up fight prepared and Tyson Fury is doing the same thing, one day earlier. Fury will take on journeyman heavyweight and former contender Mariusz Wach on July 24 in Thailand. It’s an odd event, but then again, it’s 2026 and this is boxing. What else do we expect? Let’s talk boxing.

Key Facts at a Glance

  • Broadcast: None. Per Fury, the fight will not be streamed live.

  • At stake: The inaugural WBC Humanitarian Title. Ticket proceeds go to Pattaya charities.

When Is Tyson Fury Vs. Mariusz Wach?

Tyson Fury VS Mariusz Wach

Friday, July 24, at Max Muay Thai Stadium in Pattaya. Tapology lists the event at 6:00 a.m. ET, which is an evening card local time. Ring walks have not been announced.

The venue is a bigger story than the matchup. Max Muay Thai Stadium is a kickboxing house that runs cards seven nights a week and seats around 2,000. Fury’s last outing filled Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Visually, the fight could look pretty cool on television because of the intimate setting — despite the peculiar matchmaking. There are only 1,500 VIP tickets for this one, and Fury has said the proceeds go to local charities in Pattaya. The WBC is presenting him with its inaugural Humanitarian Title on the night. Wow. You get a belt. You get a belt. You get a belt.

How Can You Watch Tyson Fury Vs. Mariusz Wach?

You can’t. According to Fury, the fight will not be broadcast live. Instead, it will be filmed by Netflix as part of the third season of “At Home with the Furys.”

Netflix is on the promotional poster, which led several outlets to assume a live stream was coming. BoxingScene reported that no broadcaster is in place and none is being pursued. The cameras in the building are there for the reality show.

So the only way to see this in real time is to be in Pattaya holding one of those 1,500 tickets. That is a genuinely strange sentence to write about a former undisputed heavyweight champion — but again, it’s 2026.

Who Is Mariusz Wach?

Mariusz Wach

A 46-year-old from Poland who went twelve rounds with Wladimir Klitschko in 2012 and has not been near that level since. He is 39-13, has lost seven of his last eight, and dropped a unanimous decision to Viktor Vykhryst in Budapest in March.

Wach has most recently been participating in one-versus-three mixed martial arts fights, so the payday that comes with taking on Fury is seemingly going to be worth his time and effort.

He’s actually done it twice, both times at Prime Show MMA in Poland, fighting three influencers at once under handicap rules.

At six-foot-eight he simply walked them down until they quit. That is the most recent competitive footage of the man sharing a ring with Fury in eleven days. To put it plainly, this is a mismatch of all mismatches — at least on paper.

What Does This Mean For Tyson Fury Vs. Anthony Joshua?

Anthony Joshua and Tyson fury

Joshua will face Kristian Prenga in his tune-up. And while Prenga isn’t expected to provide the stiffest opposition for AJ, most would likely favor him in a fight over Wach. Make of that what you will.

Fury and Joshua have agreed to terms for a fight targeted at the fourth quarter, with Netflix expected to carry it and Wembley the reported frontrunner. Both men have been beaten twice by Oleksandr Usyk, whose own move into a crossover fight says plenty about where the division’s business is heading.

Fury already got his rounds in April, when he outpointed Arslanbek Makhmudov and called Joshua out from the ring on Netflix’s first UK boxing card. That fight had a stadium, a broadcast, and a co-main. This one has none of the three. Whatever Fury is getting out of Pattaya, it isn’t sharpness. He’s seemingly doing a solid to the local government and pushing viewership to his Netflix series. You can’t knock the hustle.

Gervonta Davis has been named as the most desirable opponent for another American star, even if his ring return continues to hang in the balance.

The 31-year-old has not fought since March 2025, back when he retained his WBA world lightweight title with a controversial draw against Lamont Roach.

Keyshawn Davis

Following his title-winning triumph against Brian Norman Jr in November, ‘The Dream’ has seemingly passed the grace period for a voluntary defence and must now agree terms with Keyshawn by July 20, otherwise their contest will go to a purse bid hearing.

Regardless of his son’s mandatory obligation, though, manager Bill Haney has told Ring Magazine that ‘Tank’ remains at the top of their hit list.

After that, ‘Tank’ was in negotiations for an immediate rematch with Roach before turning his attention towards a more lucrative exhibition match with Jake Paul.

This was supposed to take place last November, only for Davis to be removed from the event following accusations of domestic violence.

Having now been made WBA ‘champion in recess’, the American finally appears to be plotting a comeback fight, quite possibly against WBO world welterweight champion Devin Haney.

Gervonta Davis and Devin Haney

News emerged towards the end of last month that the respective teams of Davis and Haney are in talks, despite the latter having been ordered to face mandatory challenger Keyshawn Davis.

Following his title-winning triumph against Brian Norman Jr in November, ‘The Dream’ has seemingly passed the grace period for a voluntary defence and must now agree terms with Keyshawn by July 20, otherwise their contest will go to a purse bid hearing.

Regardless of his son’s mandatory obligation, though, manager Bill Haney has told Ring Magazine that ‘Tank’ remains at the top of their hit list

Gervonta “Tank” Davis has dangled fights against Devin Haney, Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz and Shakur Stevenson this year, but the news that he’s expected to be out of the ring all year raises the question if his talk is cheap.

On Wednesday’s episode of ProBoxTV’s BoxingScene Today, analyst and trainer Robert Garcia said Davis also targeted his fellow unbeaten three-division champion Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez while calling out foes.

Robert Garcia

“What’s all this talk about? One person he called out – he didn’t put it on social media, but we have the messages – he called out ‘Bam,’” Garcia told co-hosts Chris Algieri and Paulie Malignaggi.

Davis, 30-0-1 (28 KOs), hasn’t fought since his disputed March 2025 draw versus former junior lightweight champion Lamont Roach Jnr at Barclays Center in New York.

The 31-year-old has been beset by legal problems this year as he confronts both a criminal and civil case for his alleged domestic violence of his former partner in Florida.

This week, The Ring Magazine reported Davis is sidelined through early 2027 after the other negotiations collapsed.

In a Wednesday night interview with BoxingScene, Garcia said he believes Davis was provoked while watching a video report by Elie Seckbach inside Garcia’s gym in Moreno Valley, California, as Rodriguez, 24-0 (17 KOs), was training for his June 13 bantamweight-title victory over Antonio Vargas.

As Seckbach asked Garcia if Davis was a top pound-for-pound fighter, Garcia said no, contending Davis is too selective in his choice of opponents, unlike Rodriguez, and that he “hadn’t earned it.”

Another shock name has emerged as a target for Gervonta Davis upon his long-awaited return to the ring.

It has been nearly 18 months since ‘Tank’ was last in action, with his last fight resulting in a controversial majority decision draw against Lamont Roach in March 2025.

Various issues both inside and outside of the ring has led to the drawn out absence of Davis, but there have been talks in recent months with several opponents about staging his comeback.

A WBA lightweight title fight against Floyd Schofield was under consideration, but ‘Tank’ has opted not to proceed with that bout, subsequently leading to him being named as champion in recess by the WBA.

Gervonta Davis

A WBO welterweight title fight against Devin Haney was then rumoured, but again that has fallen by the wayside after Devin’s father and trainer Bill announced that Davis won’t be ready to return until the first quarter of 2027.

Gervonta Davis

That hasn’t stopped another surprise option being revealed, after trainer Robert Garcia told ProBox TV that ‘Tank’ wanted a showdown against current WBA bantamweight champion Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez.

“You know who else he called out? He didn’t put it on social media but we have the messages he sent, he called out Bam. I’m telling you guys. He called out Bam and said ‘I want to fight you next. I’m going to talk to Al Haymon to make it happen.’”

Rodriguez is a three-division world champion, having also been unified champion at flyweight and super flyweight before his move to bantamweight in June, where he earned a sixth round knockout win over Antonio Vargas.

The number of divisions between Rodriguez and Davis makes it a bizarre callout by Davis if true, with ‘Bam’ instead looking to tee up a 2027 battle with undisputed super bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue, another man that ‘Tank’ has previously been linked to.

Eddie Hearn believes supporting the families of the friends lost in last December’s car crash has given Anthony Joshua added motivation to succeed in his latest comeback, reports skysports.com.

Joshua takes on Albanian Kristian Prenga in Jeddah on July 25, his first appearance since being involved in a car crash last December that killed two of his training team.

The two-time heavyweight champion took an extended period away after the deaths of Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, both childhood friends, with initial doubts about whether Joshua would return to boxing.

Joshua vowed he will be “stronger than ever” when he faces Prenga, ahead of a potential showdown with Tyson Fury later in the year, while his promoter Hearn believes the 36-year-old can use the loss of his two friends as fuel to perform.

Anthony Joshua

“They’re billing this fight as the comeback – he only fought six months ago, but this is one of the greatest comebacks, because of where he was physically, mentally, emotionally,” Hearn told Sky Sports. “He stepped up to the plate and he never shied away from it.

“He comes back with so much vengeance and emotion because he does it for Sina (Ghami) and ‘Latz’ (Latif) Ayodele. The strength and the support that he’s given to the family, is absolute priority to him.

“Every day he’s in there training harder than you can imagine in this training camp to achieve his dreams. We need to celebrate great individuals, great athletes, but also people with a never-say-die attitude, like Anthony, who’s got it all.

“He’s got all the money in the world. He’s a two-time world heavyweight champion. Yet he’s over there (in Spain), away from everybody, in isolation, training three times a day till he can’t train any more. He wants it more now than he’s ever wanted it before.”

Joshua said in Monday’s press conference he was putting aside his own emotions to be “a good soldier” for the grieving parents of Ghami and Ayodele, with Hearn confirming that helping others continues to be Joshua’s primary concern.

“There is absolutely no doubt those two great men (Ghami and Ayodele) would have wanted AJ to come back even stronger through this,” Hearn added.

“AJ’s top priority is to protect and support those people. Probably a priority over the fight and everything and, like I said, he has stepped up to that plate. Even when the accident happened, even when the injuries had occurred, the only thing on his mind was to be there for other people

Anthony Joshua

“What people didn’t see was not just the emotional pain and the mental pain, but the physical pain that he was in from that accident. It was only two or three weeks after that, he was back in rehab.

“He wants it more now than when he didn’t have anything. Before Olympic championships, before World Championship silvers, when he was just in Finchley and he was dreaming one day of bettering his life and making money and becoming a world champion.

“He wants it more now when he’s got everything. What does that tell you about the individual? It tells you he’s a true competitor – but you’ve got to be good enough.

“Now he’s got to go in there and he’s got to brutalise (Kristian) Prenga on July 25. We’ve got to go into that Fury fight with momentum and that aggression and that volatility to go and do a job on Tyson Fury.”

Back where he feels he belongs and doing what he loves, Anthony Joshua is embracing every step of his preparations for his showdown with Tyson Fury.

The two-time heavyweight champion has been away from boxing for an extended period following the tragic deaths of two friends in a car accident in Nigeria.

Joshua will make his first appearance since his December 2025 victory over Jake Paul when he takes on Albanian Kristian Prenga in Jeddah on July 25.

Anthony Joshua and Tyson fury

Speaking exclusively to Sky Sports, Joshua explained how he will be stronger – both physically and mentally – than ever before when he steps back into the ring.

“I feel solid,” he said. “This is where I want to be. I’m very grateful for this opportunity. It’s nice doing what I love.

“Life throws many obstacles at us. I stand before you now as a boxer, but I’ve got things happening in my life. I think this is the right place for me to be.

“I’m building myself up to be stronger than I’ve ever been because I know I am – not only physically, because that’s natural, but mentally. I’ve realised I’m a lot stronger than I ever thought I was.

Mariusz Wach, who takes on Tyson Fury in Thailand on July 24, is among the least fancied opponents in recent heavyweight memory.

The 46-year-old has lost 13 times, with five of those coming inside schedule, and he’s nine years removed from his last meaningful victory. That he’s even a 20-to-1 shot to win the fight seems generous.

He has been chosen so Fury can fill some time while Anthony Joshua, who he’s supposed to face in November, engages in his own warm-up bout with a rank outsider. Joshua fights Kristian Prenga, a 17-to-1 underdog, on July 25 in Saudi Arabia.

Fury insists he’ll take Wach seriously. But the 37-year-old former champion doesn’t want the fight to be broadcast on any network. The only people who will watch live, he insists, will be those inside Pattaya’s Max Muaythai Stadium. The only cameras present will be those filming for the third season of Netflix series, At Home With the Furys.

The whole exercise feels like it will be little more than a glorified sparring session.

Tyson Fury

Not so, says Wach. The Pole is talking up his chances of springing what would be one of the biggest in the history of the banner division.

“I’m very serious in every professional fight,” he told TalkSport.

“I’ve lost a few fights recently, but I will do my best to stop Tyson Fury versus Anthony Joshua from happening.

“I think that Tyson Fury will not be 100 per cent prepared for this fight because he is thinking about this fight with Joshua… I hope that he is very focused on making the Netflix series and that it will affect his preparation.”

Wach could have a point. We’ve seen Fury labor in the past when faced with opponents he doesn’t deem a threat heading in. Francis Ngannou in 2023 being the most obvious example. Fury was supposed to turn up, win at a canter, then sign to fight Oleksandr Usyk. It turned into a mighty scare for the then-WBC titlist.

But unlike with Ngannou, the MMA star who made his debut while taking Fury the full 10 rounds, even dropping him along the way, Fury knows what Wach is all about. They were sparring partners once upon a time.

“Tyson is a big fighter, he has very good legs, he has a good balance, he is dynamic, he’s fast, he’s very strong,” Wach said.

“I sparred with him a few years ago. He was one of the fighters I wanted to fight most. am not afraid of Tyson,” he promised. “I am not afraid of the heat and humidity.”

Anthony Joshua is making his return to the ring knowing he could be just one step away from fighting Tyson Fury.

But first Joshua (29-4, 26 KOs) must dispatch Kristian Prenga (20-1, 20 KOs) in a heavyweight fight dubbed ‘The Comeback.’ Joshua is boxing for the first time since the tragic car crash which killed two of his friends.

Here is everything you need to know ahead of the fight.

When is Anthony Joshua vs. Kristian Prenga?

Anthony Joshua will face Kristian Prenga on Saturday, July 25. The fight will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Who is Kristian Prenga?

Kristian Prenga

Kristian Prenga is an Albanian heavyweight whose name was perhaps a shock to many boxing fans when he was selected as Joshua’s next opponent.

He has won 20 of his 21 fights. Each of his fights have been won inside the distance. His only loss was on points in an eight-round bout, in the fifth fight of his career. Prenga stands six-foot-five tall.

Facing Joshua is a colossal step up for Prenga. His most recent opponent was an American, Joe Jones, who has lost 15 of 31 fights. Before that, Prenga beat Brandon Carmack who has lost 11 out of 20.

How to watch Anthony Joshua vs. Kristian Prenga in the UK

The fight will be broadcast live on DAZN pay-per-view in the U.K. You can also watch via DAZN’s Ultimate Tier subscription.

ESPN will also have live updates of the event and all the latest news from fight week.

Ring-walk time for Anthony Joshua vs. Kristian Prenga

Anthony Joshua vs. Kristian Prenga

The ring-walks for the main-event, and start time of the whole event, are still TBC.

Riyadh, where the fight is being held, is two hours ahead of UK time.

What is at stake?

For Joshua, a fight against Fury.

The fight has been signed already with Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, at the helm. A row between Dana White and Eddie Hearn over who will act as the official promoter is ongoing. There is also doubt about the location. Joshua vs. Fury has been pencilled in for November so a saga which has been ongoing for around a decade may be close to concluding.

Fury will fight Mariusz Wach in Thailand the night before Joshua vs. Prenga. Assuming Fury upholds his end of the bargain, the onus will turn to Joshua to emphatically dispatch Prenga.

Returning after the accident which claimed the lives of Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele is another storyline around Joshua.

What’s at stake for Prenga? The rare opportunity to go from the boxing wilderness to the top of the world if he can cause a massive upset.

Anthony Joshua vs. Kristian Prenga undercard

The undercard is still TBC.

Work continues over the eagerly awaited fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, but Balmoral Promotions’ Ezekiel Adamu wants the latter involved in a different all-British heavyweight contest in Nigeria in 2027.

Long-standing rivals Fury and Joshua are finally set to share the ring towards the end of this year at Wembley Stadium if an agreement can be reached over a start time in London, after organiser Turki Alalshikh insisted it must begin at 2 a.m. to suit the United States audience.

Anthony Joshua

While those negotiations take place in the background, Adamu is working on a big plans of his own as Balmoral Promotions are set to host a show in Lagos on July 31 after staging successful events in 2025.

Adamu recently brought out Chris Eubank Jr to Nigeria with the ambition of him headlining in the country in December and Joshua remains a long-term target.

Joshua, who has Nigerian heritage, looked set to fight there earlier this year before he was involved in a fatal car crash last December, which killed friends Latif ‘Latz’ Ayodele and Sina Ghami.

However, Adamu believes the former world heavyweight champion will one day fight in Nigeria and would love to help put on a show where he is up against British compatriot Moses Itauma, who has a Nigerian father and visited in 2025.

“I mean we made an offer for him to fight some time last year, but it hasn’t happened yet. I am 100 per cent certain at some point we will have Joshua fight here in Nigeria,” Adamu told the Press Association.

“For us, I’ve always said it is never about perfection, it is always about momentum. So, we keep going and hopefully get Chris to fight here in December and we’ll push on from there. We also have DAZN which is our broadcaster so things are falling in the right places.

Moses Itauma

“I had a meeting with Frank Warren as well and we spoke about it happening [with Itauma fighting in Nigeria]. He said, ‘yes, it will happen at some point,’ and hopefully next year or some time. Moses is also keen to fight here.

“Moses knows his roots and he would like to fight here. Putting on an AJ v Moses fight here would be unreal to be honest with you and a major blockbuster. That would be a hell of a blockbuster fight and probably a Netflix kind of fight, but yeah, it would be great to have that type of fight here.

“The government is supporting what we’re doing and we’ve got some big, powerful brands here. The broadcasters are keen to have these type of things happen. We’re speaking with DAZN and looking to build Africa as the next home of combat sports.”
